Professor Zheludev, the Young Medal and Prize winner for 2015.

Our congratulations go to Professor Nikolay Zheudev of Southampton University for being awarded IOP’s Young Medal. Nikolay was presented the award in recognition of his global leadership and pioneering, seminal work in optical metamaterials and nanophotonics.

Nikolay has served as Editor-in-Chief for one of our sister journals, Journal of Optics, for over 7 years in which time the journal has thrived under his leadership achieving an Impact Factor of over 2.0 for the last two years as well as considerable growth in articles published.

We are proud that one of our dedicated journal Editors has been recognised by their peers for the contribution they make to the research community, especially during this special celebratory International Year of Light.
