Season’s Greetings from JPhys+

It’s Christmas day and a big celebration for many across the world. From all of us here at JPhys+, we wish you all the best this holiday season and a prosperous New Year. On this festive day we’re celebrating with a pair of pictures: science that has been turned into art. I’m sure you’ll agree, they’re rather beautiful and evoke thoughts of winter and the holidays.

Both of these are originally from graphs, and the dots were originally data points. It’s amazing how a normal graph can be turned into smooth, stunning piece of artwork. It’s art, so its up to you to decide if you like them, but perhaps you’ll like them more knowing that the core lines originate from a scientist’s desk, working on a problem a long way from an artists studio.

So, that’s a brief foray into art and science for the day, perhaps now it is time to get out the Champagne and chocolate?
