This week’s image comes from a recent article by L Morrelli et al on the reaction of 12C + 12C at 95 MeV studied at the Legnaro Laboratories of INFN with the GARFIELD +RCo apparatus. The article focuses on analysing data to investigate the decay of the Hoyle state of 12C*.
The image shows Dalitz plots which are visual representations of the phase-space of a three-body decay system.
