Introducing Professor J R Morante as Editor in Chief of Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Juan Morante, Institut de Recerca en Energie de Catalunya, as Editor-in-Chief for JPhysD from 1 January 2017. He is currently Head of Advanced Materials for Energy at Catalonia Institute of Research for Energy (IREC), Barcelona, and was formerly the Vice-President for the European Materials Research Society. We very much look forward to working with him as we grow the journal and its Impact Factor. Please join me in offering Juan a warm welcome to the journal. In his opening editorial (J R Morante 2017 J. Phys. D: Appl. Phys. 50 030201), Professor Morante says:

“It is my pleasure and honor to have accepted the responsibility of being the Editor-In-Chief of this prestigious journal. This is a real challenge for me. I, together with my colleagues on the Editorial Board and our authors, reviewers and readers, must continue the enormous task that has led the journal to become one of the most relevant in the field. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous Editor-in-Chief, Giorgio Margaritondo, who has contributed so greatly to the journal and led the Board through its growth in Impact Factor and starting new initiatives such as our excellent Roadmap programme.”
