Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical
I am Executive Editor of Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical and have worked on the journal since 2007. My background is in Chemistry and I did my PhD at the University of Bristol. My free time is taken up by two small children.
After graduating with a PhD in molecular physics from the University of Birmingham I worked as a post-doc in Japan and later in the Netherlands at NIES and Radboud University, respectively. Since May 2016 I am an associate editor on Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical.
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics
I am working as Executive Editor for Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics. I studied physics initially in France and thereafter in the UK where I completed an MPhil at the University of Cardiff. Working for IOP Publishing reconciles my educational background with my interest in scientific communication as I have in the past envisioned pursuing a career in journalism. Among many other things I like meeting new people, keeping in touch with the latest developments in science and travelling.
I joined IOP Publishing in 2014 after finishing my MSci in Physics with Particle Physics from the University of Birmingham. I am now Associate Editor for Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical and Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics. In my own time I enjoy cycling, film and trying to play guitar.
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter
I am Executive Editor of Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. I joined IOP Publishing in 2006 following a PhD in Physics and postdoctoral position at the University of Exeter. I studied for my MPhys in Theoretical Physics at the University of York. Outside of work I enjoy cycling and camping (often combining the two), playing the piano and painting.
Since completing my degree in 2011 I have been working in scientific publishing. I enjoy keeping up-to-date with industry news, especially matters which affect authors and researchers, such as open access policies. I am currently the Editor of Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. Outside of work I enjoy seeing friends, exploring new cities and playing squash.
I am an Associate Editor for Nanotechnology and Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. I joined IOP in 2016 after studying Natural Sciences at the University of Bath. I still have a passion for science, and I’m also a competitive road cyclist.
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics
Dr Tom Miller is Executive Editor for Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. He has worked at IOP Publishing for more than 10 years and has been a publisher for more than 7. He has worked on many titles including Nanotechnology, Superconductor Science and Technology and is now the publisher for Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. He holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry (University of Bristol) and is a keen amateur astrophotographer.
I am the Editor of Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. I have worked for IOP Publishing since my degree in Chemical Physics at the University of Bristol in 2010. In my spare time I like to bake, watch Formula 1 and go to the theatre.
Georgia Longstaff
I am an Associate Editor for Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics and Smart Materials and Structures. I joined IOP Publishing in 2017 after studying for a MSci in Physics at the University of Bristol. I am a keen Ballroom and Latin dancer, and I am a Black Belt at Karate
Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics
I joined IOP in 2017 as Publisher for Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics and Classical and Quantum Gravity. Prior to this I worked as a Senior Journal Development Editor at BioMed Central for a portfolio of allergy and respiratory, open access titles. I hold a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southampton. In my free time I enjoy dabbling in photography, exploring the world and Netflix bingeing.
